The small print
Privacy & cookies
The short version: this website does not track you, does not run analytics or advertising, and does not send your details anywhere. Here is the longer version.
What this website stores on your device
One thing, and only if you choose it. When you answer the cookie notice, your answer is saved in your browser’s local storage under the name bb-cookie-choice, so the notice does not appear every time you visit. It holds nothing but the word “accepted” or “declined”. It never leaves your device, it is not readable by anyone else, and it is not used to identify you.
If you would rather clear it, use the button below, or clear site data in your browser settings.
What this website does not do
- No analytics of any kind — no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no heatmaps, no visitor counters.
- No advertising or remarketing tags, and no data sold or shared with advertisers.
- No third-party requests. The fonts, images, stylesheets and scripts are all served from this website’s own domain, so loading a page does not reveal your visit to any other company.
- No contact forms, no accounts and no payment processing on this site, so there is nothing here for you to fill in.
Hosting and server logs
This site is hosted by Vercel Inc., which serves the pages and keeps standard technical logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. That is a normal part of running any website and is handled under Vercel’s own privacy policy. Byte & Batter does not have access to a database of visitors and does not build profiles from these logs.
When you message me to order
Orders are placed through Instagram. When you send a message, your name, your Instagram handle and whatever you write are held inside Instagram, and Meta’s privacy policy applies to that conversation. Instagram is not covered by this policy — if you want to know what Meta does with your data, read their policy.
On my side, I keep the details you give me for one purpose: making and handing over your order. That means things like your order, the collection time, and any allergy you have told me about. I keep messages for a reasonable period so I can deal with questions or repeat orders, and I do not add you to any mailing list, sell your details, or pass them to anyone else.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Message me on Instagram and I will sort it out. If you are not happy with how I have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Photographs on this site
Every photograph here is a real batch from the Byte & Batter kitchen, taken from the @byte.batter Instagram feed, and each one links back to the original post.
